Media Master

Jon is a founder, Chairman and CEO of Intertainer, the pioneering video-on-demand company for both cable and broadband. He holds two patents for video-on-demand technologies.  A true guru in the fields of digital media entertainment and international communication management, he began his media career as tour manager for Bob Dylan and The Band.

As vice president of media mergers and acquisitions for Merrill Lynch and an investment advisor to the Bass brothers, Jon helped to re-engineer the media landscape. He has been involved in such transactions as the leveraged buyout of Viacom and saving Walt Disney Studios from a corporate raid. Jon is currently an adjunct professor at the University of Southern Califorina’s Annenburg School for Communication.

Jon has produced dozens of hours of television as well as 12 feature films, including Mean Streets, To Die For, Under Fire and The Last Waltz, and has garnered many Golden Globe and Oscar nominations.  His films have been chosen for The Cannes Film Festival seven times.

Jon is a prolific writer of articles, monographs and an interactive book entitled Road Movies.  An entertainer himself, his recent speaking engagements include: The Norman Lear Center Conference on “Ready to Share” Fashion and the Ownership of Creativity; The Broadband Content and Delivery Forum; and the Global Business Network Annual Forum.
